Display Port not supported w/ Linux
Hi All
I am running into a problem. I have a Quadro FX 3800 with a Dell 2709 monitor. It seems that the Linux drivers do not support the Display port. If I boot to Win 7 the display port sends an image to the monitor, but when I use the Fedora XX the OS is running but no image. It seems to initialize the DVI port only in Linux. After some digging I found that the same issue has been documented with Nouveau. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Dan M |
Re: Display Port not supported w/ Linux
Are you using the Nouveau drivers or the binary from Nvidia?
Displayport works perfectly fine with the nvidia binaries.(have used DP several times with the nvidia binaries) |
Re: Display Port not supported w/ Linux
Display Port doesn't work with either Nvidia Binaries or Nouveau. It may work on some cards but not all I have a Quadro FX 3800 professional Graphics card.
I spoke with the person developing Nouveau and they acknowledge the issue but are waiting for some info from Nvidia. I also have problems picking up a second monitor using the second display port with Windows 7 We are starting to see several posts since mine on this issue. |
