3D becomes slow after suspend

OS: Linux Mint 9 64bit
Driver: 195.35.15, 195.35.24
Hardware: GT 320m

3D becomes slow after suspend or hibernate. re-login does not help shows not to do with compiz.

3D performance checked before and after suspend or hibernate with Lightsmark 2008 64bit.

Re: 3D becomes slow after suspend

Perhaps a powermizer issue, where the card remains stuck at a low performance level after wakeup?

Try the 256.29 beta. It includes some changes which improve PowerMizer functionality on several higher-end mobile configurations.

Can you provide an nvidia-bug-report.log for your system?

Who is the manufacturer of your laptop, and what is the model?

Re: 3D becomes slow after suspend

I've had similar problems from the 195.x series on, but I don't bother reporting stuff here anymore. It doesn't get fixed.

A workaround that MAY work for you is that once you resume, try unplugging from power (so you're running on battery) and then plug power back in.

Good luck

Re: 3D becomes slow after suspend

What happens also is that compiz resize becomes laggy very slow after resume. Some opengl operation is buggy here in the driver. Have to Let Nvidia figure them out.

Re: 3D becomes slow after suspend

so you think 190 series driver would work in this area?

Re: 3D becomes slow after suspend

The problem wasnt nvidia driver, it was the kernel not using other cpu cores when waking up from suspend. Other applications using multi-core are affected by it.
