195.36.24 & Quadro NVS 140M & NVS 135M

Hi
Trivial annoyance, the temperature graphs in the GUI do not render correctly, with the color bars not showing, and the temperature number being pushed down with increasing temperature so that it is hidden. This does not happen with GeForece 8500 GT's and GeForce 9400 GT's where they display sensibly and presumably as intended.

Use the 256.35 driver. It is the latest stable version and has these problems fixed.
I have a 135M and it works well. Albeit it worked with 195.36.24 too on Debian Squeeze if i remember correctly - i have a 8200 IGP on another computer and that had the symptoms you describe but it is fixed in 256.35.

Hey thanks for the quick response. I'll look to upgrade in due course when I figure out how using mythbuntu 10.04. I've found the 135M does H.264 720p fine but refuses to do H.264 1080i, using mythtv on a 1440x900 display. The 140M does both without issue on 1920x1200. The former only gets 256M and the latter gets 512M RAM which I presume is the reason here?

It doesnt have to do with RAM. The 135M and the 140M both have VDPAU set A - and not all HD formats play (correctly) on them.
Check the players settings. I use smplayer and it works great with VDPAU.
Test the movie with mplayer to see some debug info (in a terminal):

mplayer -vo vdpau -vc ffodivxvdpau,ffh264vdpau,ffmpeg12vdpau,ffwmv3vdpau ,ffvc1vdpau moviename

1080i plays with many missed frames and much depixillation, as per the output attached. This is without and then with the -ni option.
