Vampire Bloodlines Revival

-The Bloodlines Revival Project is a community effort to update the original Vampire Bloodlines game, bringing it to the current Source engine.

-To achieve this, a dedicated team of hobbyists are working on converting the original content into the new engine. This has the following benefits:
-Fixing all of the bugs still found in the original games (the original developers were only able to release one patch - it's up to us!)
-Among these bugs were slowdowns, bad framerates, quest issues, graphical problems/glitches, and a serious control issue present for most people that locks up all controls for several moments periodically.
-To bring the fans of the game an SDK to work with.
-This allows fans to make their own Bloodlines content - maps, textures, quests, npcs - anything and everything.

Re: Vampire Bloodlines Revival
Nice! Hopefully they will merge it with the Community Patches

EDIT: Bah nm, this is a project that will never get finalized... the team looks to be mappers and artists... that haven't even progressed with fixing the engine. Looks like all they have done is port the maps to HL2.

Re: Vampire Bloodlines Revival
This makes me want to play the original bloodlines again. I don't remember the bugs, just the super sweet story and all the source eye candy, including never-before-seen (at the time) cloth physics. I suppose if there was one thing to gripe about it was the combat, which was lackluster. But the missions and characters you met along the way were highly memorable. I still remember the haunted house mission, with all the scripted sounds and stuff, and the one where you go down into a cave and a guy pops up behind you after talking to you out of nowhere and putting you on edge. Man, what a cinematic game for its time.

Been keeping an eye on this for a bit, but for sure it will take a while until it's finished.

So I won't be holding my breath. :)

Re: Vampire Bloodlines Revival
Was a great game. Alpha Protocol reminded me of Bloodlines. Great RPG, similar shooting system, huge bugs, but great story and has a firm fan base.

I never could bring myself to finish it, but this might just do it.

The community patches really tidied up the end game. Don't wait. Finish now!

Re: Vampire Bloodlines Revival
I remember the original. I played it for maybe a couple of days and for some reason lost interest...

If this gets finished, I may give it a 2nd shot. I'll chalk it up with black mesa source though... I'll believe it when I'm playing it.

Re: Vampire Bloodlines Revival
The project is now called Bloodlines Resurgence.

What is Bloodlines Resurgence?
Bloodlines Resurgence is a project that updates the original Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines game to work on the current Source engine.

What are the benefits?
The project's aim is to use the latest Source engine, which improves many area of the game, such as better graphic support, larger resolution and model support, larger map support, improved graphic features, such as soft particles, shading and more.
But not just that, our second main goal is to have full support for modding. I've seen many fan made mods which are quite unique and they deserve the best out of the game, which is one of the projects goals.
The current Source engine has fixed many of the bugs found in the original game.

This game was one of the best games I've ever played. Thanks for the reminder. I look forward to reinstalling this game and give it another go.
