Anyone else getting a Samsung Galaxy S phone?

I think I'll pick up the TMobile version this Thursday when it comes out. It's supposed to be a pretty nice and fast phone. It has a 1GHZ Hummingbird processor with a gpu that is 3x faster than any other phone out. It also has 512 RAM.
The Tmobile one has no front facing camera or flash like some of the other carriers but it does have 16gb internal memory and another 2gb SD Card included. The 4" Super AMOLED screen is supposed to be very nice. Also comes with Kindle, Sims game and Avatar in HD (on the 2gb sd card I heard) and Android 2.1. I have read that they are going to be putting 2.2 on it but we will see.

haha, 3 hour movie in HD on 2gb card, not gonna happen.

for 720p, about 40 minutes will take about 1.1gb at acceptable quality, so to fit 3 hours on 2gb, they either went really low on resolution or really bad/low bitrate.

The GPU speed is irrelevant with any Android device. There aren't any decent games to play. If you want to play a game, pick up the iPhone or (believe it or not) a Palm Pre.

I don't want an iphone but the Incredible looks good though.
I figure if I'm going to get a new phone I might as well get the best one out that TMobile has. I still do love the hell out of the Garmin GPS on my wife's Garminfone though.

it might, but calling something HD when it isn't, it just mad marketing.

Yea I agree nekro. Anyways I didn't care for the movie that much anyways (the 3d was good though) so no big deal. Hell I will probably copy it to my computer anyways and just format the card for extra space. The SIms game could go too for all I care as i don't play those games but my wife does so she will probably be borrowing my phone a lot.
