asus dual gtx 480 beast shown!

seems asus is cornering the market on powerhouse graphics cards, 1st the asus amd/ati ares and now this? One problem, can someone tell me where I can find a psu with 6 pci-e adapters. Because my powerhouse 1500 watt only has 4. Mind you they have 6 and 8 pin on the 4 though.

edit: it says 3 8pins for each card. With motherboard power, that's 525 watts for one card. Holy crap!

I like Asus they have nutz and don't mind giving it a shot their engineers are bright people.

This is gonna be a Mars type deal I don't think we'll see the like of other partners doing this.
hahahah and yeah to holy crap 525 watts.

Tri-slot cooler *minimum*, 1kw (or close to it) minimum for PSU, temps and power usage like that which we've never seen before.

Also of note, is performance will be like we've never seen before.

if you really think about it, it's the same as getting 4 gtx 480's and 4 way sli the cards. Either way, tri slot cooling means that you would need a 7 slot mb just the same as 4 gtx 480's just to meet the needs for quad sli for two of those of beasts! Just if someone could get that card down to a 2 slot card, then it would be a benefit for everyone.

I thought most high end psus had 6 pci-e adapters? My Silencer 910 does. Seems wierd to make a 1500w supply with only 4.

Hows that supposed to fit in a case...? I have a rather large server case, and my last 2 cards only have about 1.5-2 inches left before they touch my HDD fan...

well, the box claims 3 x vga on it for the psu and it comes with extra pci-e cables but the layout of the modular setup only shows 4 ports that I can see along the top where the pci-e cables that are attached are. On the bottom its 12v rails for sata and molex AFAIK. It doesn't matter either way, two of those would use up 1050 of 1500 watts. I know I would definitely have the power room if I could figure out the psu, it's just the tri slot cooling, I use the rest of my mb slots for other stuff, so again if someone was able to develop the gtx 295 (mind you, it used two gtx 260's or 275's put together, so I would guess to get a two slot with less power would either be two 470's or 465's) at two slots, why can't someone do it with dx 11 tech? I mean 4 470's in quad sli still beat two gtx 480's if that is what is needed to be done to make things work.
