Retail Game on Steam
I have added a non steam game to my steam account.
My question is how can i access steam's on line servers with this game.

Re: Retail Game on Steam
You should have a place to enter or view the key under the games context menu. I don't have that one or I'd check for ya.

EDIT: Should be able to access servers after entering it...I think.

Re: Retail Game on Steam
thanks grey. The game is part of anthology, key wasn't accepted , thought maybe i was doing it wrong. guess it would have to be a stand alone game.

Re: Retail Game on Steam
Gotcha. I thought if the game were available on steam it would work. Sorry I don't have an answer for you bro.

Or..any chance the I.P.s of the servers are available and join that way? It's still the same game unless the Anthology changed any content.

Re: Retail Game on Steam
only some games bought at retail can be fully included into steam. The others will just link your normal install and steam will just be a convenient launcher.

Unreal 2004, isn't in that list, so you cannot, sorry.
Unreal 3, will though.

Re: Retail Game on Steam
Exactly. If you add a non-steam game to steam, you cannot access any of the "features" of the game in steam (like finding friends who are playing it and joining their game.) Unless I am wrong, the only thing you can do is access the Steam "page" from ingame.

Re: Retail Game on Steam
Adding non steam games does nothing more then provide a startup icon. Steam has no knowledge of the game in its servers and the game has no knowledge of steam so they share nothing. Unreal 2004 has its own browser system.
