You want brain tumors?

Anyone else worried about their heath in future years from cell phone use? Girlfriend got a bluetooth ear piece just for preventative measures she says. Studies seem to go both ways on the subject. May take another decade or so to figure out for sure phone's repercussions.

Reminds me of concerns people had living near high voltage power lines.

Eh, seems ridiculous BUT back in the first half of the 20th century, people thought the same of smoking. :/

Honestly I don't get where this fear comes from. Phones do not emit ionizing radiation. Unless radiation is ionizing, it isn't going to hurt you.

Visible light is closer to being ionizing than cell phones. Hell, if you walk outside and get exposed to ultraviolet light from the sun, that is ionizing, and in the EM spectrum it sits way way WAY above radio waves caused by cell phones.

Just to illustrate what I mean:

^Yea that totally make sense to me.

But honestly we never find out until 20-30 years after using something in society that its deadly. Asbestos, and lead were put in almost everything for a long time.

Studies/results seem mixed on the subject.

Why? The further to the left you go on the spectrum in this chart, the more dangerous it is to your body, the further right you go, the less dangerous it is. Note that radio waves (where cell phones sit in the EM spectrum) are far to the right of EM energy that you are looking at right now.

So if I travel in my car and put the phone in the V area between ,y legs I'll get prostate cancer most likely, eh?

1 day in the sun is probably a greater risk than a lifetime of cell phone use. I would be more worried about what your breathing in these days over what you are using to communicate! :) And yes, its very low energy. Thats why you need so many damn cell phone towers to make the network. Thier range is so small because the power is so low.
