How do I Remove Linux nVidia Riva TNT driver?

I finally got fed up with the compatibility issues between the my Riva TNT video card and Ubuntu Linux. First the kernal gets updated and the video quits working. Then after a full day of trying this and that I managed to get version 13 of the driver installed accidentally. It worked great for 2 months, I had full resolution and the computer would boot normally. Then the kernal gets updated again. Now The video is not working again and I can't get version 14 of the driver installed. Every time I try I get some kind of error. So I removed the TNT video card and put a Radeon card in. Now there are more problems stemming from the partial failed installs of the nVidia driver. :headexplode:

How do I remove all traces of that old nVidia driver? Thank you in advance. :)

I didn't know about the --uninstall part. Now I have to figure out how to get the computer booted in the correct mode. So I don't get the error X server is running. Or the ever popular your are in runmode 1 you need to switch to runmode 3. That is what took all day to get and it was an accident.

Just add "3" at the end of the linux command line.

I tried the add 3 to the command line. The installer reports that it is an invalid argument. The driver is not completely removed I still have an NVIDIA thing on my administration menu for controlling the display. It has replaced the Ubuntu item for doing the same job. How do I get rid of the NVIDIA and restore the Ubuntu display control?
