NVIDIA Quadro SDI sync detect incorrect
I have a FX5800 with a Quadro SDI board next to it. When the SDI board is fed 1920x1080 23.98 PSF sync it detects it as 1920x1080i 47.96HZ (SMPTE274) which is incorrect. I have tried drivers: NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-190.42 NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-190.53 and NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-256.53. All show the wrong sync type. The firmware version on the SDI board is 3.09.
If the SDI board is fed 1920x1080 23.98P or 1920x1080 59.94I it detects them as the correct type.
All this info came from the NVIDIA X Server Settings.
Is this a bug? Is there new firmware for the SDI board?

Yeah, oops. Can't speak to the SDI capture card specifically, but speaking from a video guy perspective, your 23.98 PsF *IS* 47.96i.
That's not the case with your other example - 23.98P versus 59.94i.
Not sure if that makes sense to you, but PsF is an interlaced signal that, by common agreement, is actually a set of progressive frames broken into fields.
As such, there is no way to tell them apart in a simple sync signal. In fact, that's sort of the point - the signal can pretend to be interlaced so that it can pass through an interlace friendly signal path.
I would expect an actual video signal might have a flag to indicate this signal type - have to look at the spec, i.e., it might be in the ancillary data.
