[260.19.21] RFE: gradient support
Cairo 1.10.0 turned on calls to hardware gradients, which seem to be dreadfully slow in the NVIDIA driver. Is it possible to have the NVIDIA driver changed so that these are sped up?

Bump. Hope everyone had a nice holiday.
Cairo folks won't fix the issue so unless I'm mistaken, the NVIDIA driver will need to be fixed. |
Re: [260.19.21] RFE: gradient support
Gradients are accelerated on recent GPUs, but there are a couple of bugs that cause corruption issues that we're working on fixing.

The workaround at the moment is to disable the gradient calls in cairo 1.10. |

Re: [260.19.21] RFE: gradient support
I haven't seen any corruption issues with Fedora 14 / Nvidia 260.19.12 but the UI is extremely slow with the default theme. Switching to Mist theme (which has no gradients) makes it fast but ugly.

Re: [260.19.21] RFE: gradient support
Fedora has apparently pushed an update that avoids the problem (using software rendering instead).

Re: [260.19.21] RFE: gradient support
The update was pushed a month ago.

Re: [260.19.21] RFE: gradient support
FYI: The Fedora update is temporary and Fedora 15 will not include it (and will never include it).
NVIDIA must still fix the gradient issue. |
