Drivers >= 256.x issues on 220GT
Hi, I have a fanless 220GT, and I have problems when changing to 60Hz, and some issues with vdpau:
Refresh rate change: Changing to 60Hz makes the TV go black with / without apps running in ubuntu 9.10 X Windows. Sound also goes completely dead until I reboot. VDPAU: Sometimes white dots occurs when there's black and it won't remedy itself until I reboot / cold boot. Doesn't matter whether there's h264 or mpeg2. Works perfectly on 195.36.31. Tried with different X configs on: NVIDIA-Linux-x86-256.29.run NVIDIA-Linux-x86-256.35.run NVIDIA-Linux-x86-260.19.21.run NVIDIA-Linux-x86-260.19.29.run X config: Code:

Try regenerating the xorg.conf with nvidia-xconfig and do not add anything to it manually. See if the issue persists that way. |

I am still having the same issues.
Still black screen on 60Hz with 270.41.06. |
Re: Drivers >= 256.x issues on 220GT
Still happening on 280.13!!!
UPDATE: Commenting out a bunch of old settings worked. * embarrassed* |
Re: Drivers >= 256.x issues on 220GT
It "worked" because I enabled dynamic twinview. But then 60Hz doesn't show anymore.
xrandr returns fine, but the screen goes black. Seems like it doesnt like 60hz on these new drivers... ? UPDATE: ARGH My Denon receiver messed up the signal. :) Works now. |
Re: Drivers >= 256.x issues on 220GT
Why is it that my Denon handled 195.36.31 fine, but not the newer ones?
Now I managed to get picture on 60 Hz when switching off conversion. But there is the some brightness somehow, and sound does not work when I change refresh rate to 60Hz. I have to reset the amp to get the sound. So there must be something radically different in the way the new drivers send HDMI signals. I see myself forced to go back to 195.36.31. |
