Bulldozer and SLI?

Hi all,

Will there be any AMD-chipset based mobos for BD that support SLI? I might upgrade to an 8-core BD in April, but I want to hang on to my gfx cards!

If not, I guess I'll just hang on to my current setup until Intel wins the crown again.

NVIDIA's recent announcement regarding SLI mostly focused on the P67 platform, but they did mention AMD in a way that hinted that SLI support on AMD chipsets will not cease.

I would agree Slawter.. Nvidia makes the amd chipsets for sli. The latest 980a sli does allow 6 core cpu usage, but I haven't read or heard any news on next gen chipsets for amd bulldozer. It would be a shame for amd users if nvidia doesn't come out with the bulldozer sli chiipset for future mb's. If I had known nvidia amd mb's had 6 core support, I may have built that way, but then there are no amd mb's with 6 or 7 full size pci-e slots afaik.

but is NVIDIA really coming back to the chipset business?? Because last news we heard were about NVIDIA fusing the chipset department with Tegra or something like that...

So... NVIDIA chipsets strikes back?

If they don't, there are already AM3 boards utilising Lucid Hydra. They seem to be lower end boards, but if NV don't bring out any new AMD chipsets, I'm sure the technology will be used for a SLI capable high end AMD platform - especially if Bulldozer performs well.

I am sure it will be an AMD chipset with a NV PCI-E bridge slapped to it.
