(Any Linux distribu) + compiz/kwin/mutter = tearing only top screen
 
Hi. my laptop lenovo y550 ( gt240m ).
When include composite, there is a gap at the top of the screen when running 3d or drag the window.
my screen

tried various settings but nothing works. :(

hi all. I have the laptop lenovo y550. screen resolution of 1366x768 (16:9).

video gt 240m.

distro - Ubuntu. Fedor opensuse, Arch, Mandriva.

grive from version 195 to 270.

when the compiz or kwin appears a gap at the top of the screen. change settings compiz , kwin, nvidia-settings but nothing helps

It is not like they do not understand what you are saying but that this problem is hardly common so most simply don't have experience with it.

(I have no clue what could be wrong here, sorry).

Yes happens to me as well.

On the desktop, notebook, and everything that I have with NVIDIA.

When Composite Extension is on, all vsynced outputs tear at the top part of the screen.
