Antec High Current Pro 1200W Power Supply

I was building a rig for a friend of mine and he wanted my 850W Antec Signature PSU, so I sold it to him for $200 and bought myself a Antec High Current Pro 1200W Power Supply for $275.

This power supply almost hits 80 Plus Platinum certification. It's very quiet and should be enough for 3 to 5 years. Warranty covers 5 years, so I'll see how long it lasts.

Very nice PSU. Didn't realize how extensively HardOCP tests those PSU's. They do a nice job.

there are only a few sites that really test PSUs.
HardOCP is one of them. Johnny Guru another.

You must wipe your ass with $100 bills :)

It's for his killer nic. They draw lots of power for all the packets they move.

Enough with your nonsense fool.

It's the first upgrade to my computer. Eventually I'll get a new high-end video card when the next generation is out, and move to a HAF X case with some SSDs.

My system is running much quieter now that it's not even at 50% load (on my PSU).

I think it's safe to say I won't need another power supply for several years.

SLI is for people who like to wipe their ass with hundred dollar bills.

It usually takes 2 driver updates and a patch or two to play the game with SLI on without insane flickering. Other times, it does little to nothing.

I'd rather get a single 580 GTX.

Are you going to use it for welding?
Seriously, I hope future products are using less power, be it cpus or graphics cards. I have several ssds sitting on the shelf waiting to get deployed and have another GTX 280 that I might put in my big rig when I'm in the mood for SLI adventures and my Enermax Revo 850W should handle these additional loads without a hitch :)

Well it seems I'm getting my HAF X case on Tuesday.

A fan cable broke in my tiny Antec 900 case. I'm glad I won't have to do anything else in that tiny box except disassemble the components.
