Problems with SuSE 8.1 and 4496

I'm runnig SuSE 8.1 on a Toshiba Satellite 2410-404 (GeForce 4 mobile Graphics Chip). Today I updateted the KErnel from the SuSE FTP-Server and after this I had to install the new nvidia drivers. I did this like it is discribed in the SuSE nvidia HOWTO (ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/sup...ler-HOWTO.html) using sax2 to activate 3D acceleration didn't work. Using my old XF86config did work, but sax2 claims that the 3D aceleration isn't activated. Also when I try to start for example tuxracer I get an error message that there is no hardware acceleration. If I ignore this message tuxracer will start and the performance is fine. So I'm not sure whether the acceleration is activated or not.
As far as I can see the glx extensions are loaded without any error.
Any idea what's wrong?

you did change the 'nv' to 'nvidia' in the xf86config file right?

just curious.

your XF86.log shows no errors, so everything should be fine.

type in a xterm or konsole 'glxinfo', if you get some output, everything is really fine ;o)
