Wireless Display
There's this technology in the world that is called wireless display. I'm having problem finding something like this. DLink has it and I saw it on engadget not long ago.
What exactly do you call this kind of technology, is it actually in the marketing now? If it is, I need to know the exact name so I can find it easily. I'm interested in owning one. It cost $150~ if from DLink. It's nice to have something that you could connect your laptop without having headaches using the wires at any times. Here's one, found thru google by "WiDi". http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-...splay-adapter/ If I use BestBuy, it won't find such device. |
Re: Wireless Display
there is no great wireless display solution yet.
All recent interfaces use too much bandwidth for wireless: HDMI can carry 5Gb+, Display port more than the double... So, it's either very short distance (line of sight/15ft), bulky adapters (with 3+ antennas), reduced display quality (as they need to compress the video stream on the fly) or all of the above. So far, nothing beats a simple cable... |
Re: Wireless Display
What Frenchy said. Plugging a cable into the side of your laptop is far easier than trying to get a wireless solution to work, and will have a better picture than wireless.
