No sound through HDMI with GT440 [SOLVED]

1 Attachment(s)
My GT240 card broke recently and was replaced with a GT440 card.

Sound through HDMI works perfectly on Windows, and worked on Linux with the GT240, but with the GT440 doesn't work at all.

I followed this guide but I'm stuck at the "Verify that your ELD is valid" step.

All I get is this:
Code:

cat /proc/asound/card0/eld#1.0
monitor_present        0
eld_valid              0
monitor_name
connection_type        HDMI
eld_version            [0x0] reserved
edid_version            [0x0] no CEA EDID Timing Extension block present
manufacture_id          0x0
product_id              0x0
port_id                0x0
support_hdcp            0
support_ai              0
audio_sync_delay        0
speakers                [0x0]
sad_count              0

So what's happening here?

A bugreport is attached.

Things got a little better since I added "probe_mask=8" to the snd-hda-intel module options:
Code:

options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=0 bdl_pos_adj=0x00ff probe_mask=8
Now "cat /proc/asound/card0/eld#3.0 gives me:
Code:

monitor_present        1
eld_valid              1
monitor_name            HG216

connection_type        HDMI
eld_version            [0x2] CEA-861D or below
edid_version            [0x3] CEA-861-B, C or D
manufacture_id          0x6422
product_id              0x1ca3
port_id                0x20000
support_hdcp            0
support_ai              0
audio_sync_delay        0
speakers                [0x1] FL/FR
sad_count              1
sad0_coding_type        [0x1] LPCM
sad0_channels          2
sad0_rates              [0xe0] 44100 48000 88200
sad0_bits              [0x20000] 16

But still no sound.

I ran "alsamixer -c 0" and made sure outputs were not muted.
But "speaker-test -D hw:0,3" and "aplay -D hw:0,3 file.wav" give no sound.
(also tried "aplay -D hdmi:0,0 file.wav")

Code:

aplay -D hw:0,3 /usr/share/sounds/KDE-Im-Phone-Ring.wav
Playing WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/KDE-Im-Phone-Ring.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 48000 Hz, Stereo
aplay: pcm_write:1682: write error: Error de entrada/salida

Re: No sound through HDMI with GT440

Updating ALSA (userspace & kernel) did not help.
I followed this guide.

Re: No sound through HDMI with GT440

I don't know what I did exactly, but the problem is solved.

Maybe it was when I changed "bdl_post_adj" back to "0x00", I don't know...
Or maybe it was some fiddling with packages (installing, uninstalling, etc).

You can ignore this thread now.
