TurboV seems to give much better results than bios OC attempts, Is it safe??

I had a go a while ago trying to push my 2500k higher but anything past 4.5ghz it seemed not to like...
Yesterday I installed and tried AI suite II/ TurboV and it was very easy to push it up to 4.8 which I found strange.
Whats the deal here? Is this thing best avoided?

Is UEFI bios just software OC'ing anyway?

I use manual OC (from BIOS), because asus tools use too much voltage, CPU too hot to be safe.

i have read a horror story here
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...-my-CPU-on-RE3
but this guy applied a crazy voltage that the software decided to offer unexpectedly :headexplode:
One issue I've found is yesterday I opened turbov and it displayed a much higher vcore in saved and default profiles instead of the usual so 1.47 instead of 1.2
The actual vcore remained the same as before.

I never liked using it. I guess it's not bad if you're trying to figure out max clocks but once you do its best to just set them and forget them in the bios. Also it's always running in the background and its a waste of resources

Yes, I did that then uninstalled it.
