Screen V-Sync / Tearing with 180 Degree Rotation?

Hello All,
Is there currently any fix to get v-sync working with a 180 degree rotated screen? When I'm not rotated, mplayer / mythTV using vdpau are fully synced and everything looks great.

When I rotate, so begins the awful tearing.

Any ideas? Using a Geforce 220 with latest drivers.

No fix. Not even acknowledged as a bug yet. I started a thread at the start of this year about it.

I still see tearing even on the latest driver (290.10), the latest X (1.11), and the latest kernel (3.1.4).

VDPAU is documented to not be able to use the overlay presentation queue when rotation is enabled, which explains the tearing you're observing. Please refer to the README for more information.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll have to decide if I want to live with tearing or horrible viewing angle issues. Stupid cheap TN LCD panels!
