LG shows 27-inch 3D Monitor with IPS Panel

LG Electronics has today shown in South Korea a sexy new (passive) 3D monitor, the 27-inch Cinema 3D DM92 series. While most details about this display will be supplied at CES 2012 in January, LG couldn't refrain from teasing and mentioned that the DM92 has a slim (1 mm) bezel and makes use of an e-IPS (In-Plane Switching) panel with 178/178 degree viewing angles.

The DM92 also boasts an LED backlight and hopefully it comes with a native resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels. Hopefully.

e-IPS :( But that had to be expected.
The slim bezels are nice though.

I doubt that it'll be a 2560 panel. For that 3D crap, HDMI is probably the preferred interface and then you'll be bandwidth limited to 1080p.

You are probably right, but it is a step in the right direction. It may have Display Port if we are lucky. I see Nvidia is supporting 3D over it now.

You should buy Trine 2. "That 3d crap" looks better than anything else I have seen in 25 years of computer gaming, by far.

It's a passive 3D screen, that means that only half of the image is refreshed for each eye.
This should limit the bandwidth requirements (and the image quality)

Passive 3D, the new interlaced mode...
