Vertical stripes on mpg videos while using VDPAU

I guess you mean vertical stripes? I see them with 290.10 as well. Will try previous drivers to figure out when they appeared.

The vertical stripes also appear for the 256.53 driver. The original poster did not provide information on the file format. In my case it happens for a MPEG-PS (MPEG1) video. After handbraking it to MP4 (H.264) the stripes are gone. Since the latter is the format for most movies of my collection I didn't notice this issue earlier.

It seems this happens when mplayer is compiled against newer ffmpeg versions. Commit 5ccbf80963c1cc54aed97b1c81b1657ab91baf6a is the last one that works.
