Cloning a drive

Is there a tool out there that I can boot a CD and hook up two sata drives and clone one to another?

I have used a cloning box we have at work, but then I have to bring the HD's in and all that. I would then used gparted to gain back the rest of the partition if the destination drive was a little bigger.

Can boot a Live CD and clone entire drive or backup to FTP.

Thanks.

It seems like that program just makes an image and copies to an FTP. I need to clone one drive to a destination drive, not make an image and copy it to a FTP.

Who makes your destination drive? Most of the companies have free tools you can use to clone it but you have to use the software provided by the maker of the destination drive. I know seagate has diskwizzard and WD has acronis true image that do a good job and are free

Update

I ended up using the Linux based "Ultimate Boot CD". It has a bunch of free tools on it to do various things. One of them was a drive cloning tool, it will clone one drive to another drive of similar or larger size. Then I used Gparted to extend the rest of the partition. Works perfectly.

My favorite tool for making backups is dd, it makes an EXACT copy of a drive. It works like this:

dd if=/dev/sdX of=/path/to/image.img bs=4M

Then restore it with:

dd if=/path/to/image.img of=/dev/sdX bs=4M

If you want to make compressed backups, do something like:

dd if=/dev/sdX bs=4M | gzip -9 > backup.img.gz

It's so nice how linux command line tools mesh together.

There is a local option:
