nvnet / nvaudio conflicts?
I am running slackware 9 on an abit nf7-s v2. Also running the latest (i think) nvidia drivers, nvnet and nvaudio. Both work fine, but whenever there is network activity such as images in web browsing or downloading large files, the audio will jitter, mouse lags and on average the top 10 running processes hit 10% cpu usage, where they normally wouldnt be bothering. Anyone had similar problems or know what it could be?
If the kernel is in the 2.4.20 or 2.4.21 series (and if the kernel mailing list is right, other versions as well) then it's quite possible it's the ACPI included in the kernel.
In my case sound would hang when I accessed the web.
Try booting with the kernel with acpi=off as an appended parameter. (at the lilo command prompt).
There is a fair number of discussions in this forum on the topic. Search on ACPI or nvnet.
i tried disabling it, but it did not help.
I am using kernel 2.4.20
