If you get to fly the heli or drive a car and do missions I could definitely see it being a bit fun! I'm not exactly sure if it will let you do that, but the driving stuff was a bit boring in SC4.

I have played almost every sim game so I'll definitely be checking this one out. It's so sad to me that I cannot figure out a way to get SimCopter to work properly on a modern pc. It either runs at 1000x or it stutters really badly and is unplayable.

If you could play co-op ala Simcity 2K Network Edition this game could be like GTA except focused on simulation. Network Edition was actually quite a bit of fun although like most sim games it was a bit buggy.

Best gaming news I have heard in a while. I love MMO's sand FPS' but something about SimCity that I have always loved.

OOOH the designers from SimCity 2000 and SimCity 4?!? This will be amazing.

Hell yeah! I keep checking every 12 months or so if there is any news on a new Sim City. So glad it's coming, 4 was really good but there's so much they could add these days. :)

I heard from GameOn there should also be some type of co-op to it!! :captnkill: I really hope there is a way to have 2 - 4 players on the same map at once.

Ouch.... We'll see how they treat MP and whether or not you really needed to be online all the time in Simcity. If they make it so people can work on a persistent world and come and go as they want, then yes I could see maybe why they would need online 24/7. If they make a single player game where people can't join it and you have to switch to MP, then obviously there isn't a need for you to have to be online.

I like the comparison of using spore and not BF3... Pretty sure EA has had it's moments with battlefield games between server maintenance, crashing, and patching. I doubt this game is going to sell as fast as D3 so they should have a bit easier time keeping the servers up.

EDIT: OUCH x2... Pre-order on Origin is $80.
