Epic Runs Samaritan Demo on A Single Kepler GPU
http://5601-blogs-nvidia-com.voxcdn....red-image3.jpgOur next-generation Kepler GPU architecture made a surprise appearance at Epic's panel session at this week's Game Developer Conference (GDC)
If you thought previous demos of Epic's future-looking Samaritan gaming title was impressive, try this on for size: Samaritan can run on a single Kepler-based graphics card.
Samaritan has been regarded as a look into the distant future of gaming. The graphics are so advanced that it was recently regarded as a fringe demo ' requiring no fewer than three GeForce GTX 580 graphics cards. That all changed with Epic's demo at GDC, when it was unveiled that the Samaritan demo replaced the three GTC 580s with one Kepler GPU.
Thanks to the increased graphics horsepower of the Kepler-based GPU and NVIDIA's new Fast Approximate Anti-Aliasing (FXAA) technology ' an improvement to the industry's established Multisample Anti-Aliasing technology ' the Samaritan demo wowed the eager crowd in the standing-room-only panel session.
Hit up GeForce.com for a full breakdown of how Kepler and FXAA made Epic's recent Samaritan demo possible. And don't forget to check out the interactive graphics comparison tool, showing the power of FXAA.
