Hello,

I'm PLD Linux distribution developer. We have recently noticed that after upgrade to glibc 2.15, programs depended on nvidia libraries trashes with core dump.

Here is example of vlc after choosing a film to play:

Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.
#0 0x00007fc6af1d1c0f in _nv022tls () from /usr/lib64/nvidia/libnvidia-tls.so.295.20
(gdb) where
#0 0x00007fc6af1d1c0f in _nv022tls () from /usr/lib64/nvidia/libnvidia-tls.so.295.20
#1 0x00007fc6af89fa01 in ?? () from /usr/lib64/nvidia/libGL.so.1
#2 0x00007fc6dfad8fc5 in fork () from /lib64/libc.so.6
#3 0x00007fc6dfafa775 in ?? () from /lib64/libc.so.6
#4 0x00007fc6dfafa510 in posix_spawnp () from /lib64/libc.so.6
#5 0x00007fc6d2d80487 in ?? () from /usr/lib64/vlc/plugins/misc/libxdg_screensaver_plugin.so
#6 0x00007fc6af8a3354 in ?? () from /usr/lib64/nvidia/libGL.so.1
#7 0x00007fc6dffd7fef in start_thread () from /lib64/libpthread.so.0
#8 0x00007fc6dfb09cdd in clone () from /lib64/libc.so.6
#9 0x0000000000000000 in ?? ()

Fore some reason starting vlc with strace there is no memory fault.

Nvidia doesn't include debug information in package, so we cannot debug what is wrong.

Kernel: 3.2.9 (x86_64)
Driver version: 295.20 (up to date).
Distribution: PLD Linux

This issue is quite similar to: https://bugzilla.red...g.cgi?id=797905

Some of our users noticed that even glxinfo crashes.
On my desktop glxinfo works fine.

Kind Regards,

Yeah this is a known regression in the latest drivers, see other reports:

NVIDIA has filed an internal bug for this ... lets hope this gets fixed soon.
