173.14.35 x86. Small gtk widgets are often diappear

This bug started on 173.14.34 version.

Run, for example, Mozilla Firefox (gtk2), geeqie (gtk2), audacious (gtk3), open the Options window, or any WEB-page with checkboxes.

Many checkboxes are shown as unmarked, but in fact they are marked.
To be sure, it is sufficient to move the mouse over them.

geeqie options before mouse move:

and after:

Not only checkboxes a disappear.
The buttons in firefox panel. Before:

and after mouse move:

My system:
Arch Linux i686 current, Xorg-1.12, Linux kernel 3.3.7, gtk2 2.24.10, gtk3 3.4.3, firefox 13.0, gtk2 xfce engine 3.0.0, gtk3 xfce engine 3.0.0 (xfce 4.10)

Hardware: GeForce FX5600 and FX5200.

I think I'm seeing something similar with some buttons/icons on Firefox's (FF14) Add-on Bar that occasionally appear grayed out.
The icons are from the QuickJava 1.7.5 firefox extension. They enable/disable javascript, flash & images. { enabled=blue background / disabled=red background }
The status/settings of the buttons remains the same as what they were when they appeared normally, but the background of the icons have a grayed out appearance.

Toggling Firefox's Add-on Bar off and then back on again (using Ctrl+/) brings back a normal appearance.

I didn't start seeing this behaviour until recently after I upgraded Xorg from 1.10.6 -> 1.12.1.902 and the 173xx driver from 173.14.31 -> 173.14.35

This is on a Debian sid install with a 3.4 kernel, KDE 4.8.3 and a FX5200 videocard (there's probably more thorough system details in the attached bugreport)

I can confirm the issue with firefox 13, gedit 3.4.x and a bunch of other apps.
The artifacts started to appear with 173.14.35 and xserver 1.12.

Did you tested with 295.59 driver?

This topic is about the legacy driver, version 173.14.35

Oh! sorry I though like you are using Quadro FX 5600.

Will this bug left without fix?

This is how Nvidia has answered to my issue, which is even much worse than yours (since it completely prevents me from running GNOME Shell):

So, I wouldn't have great hopes if I were you... :argh:

In my case it is exactly regression.
An error appears in all GTK programs.
