Nvidia and Debian
What's happenned to being able to download the gzip'ed tarballs of the source code?

As I run Debian, I can't make much use for the rpm files, I either need .deb files or .tar.gz files.

You have several options; one is to use the NVIDIA installer, which will work just fine on Debian GNU/Linux systems provided the kernel sources are installed; another is to download and use third-party provided .deb packages. If you wish to use the .tar.gz archives, you can extract them from the .src.rpm packages; if all else fails to meet your requirements, you can extract the .run file and perform a manual installation of the various driver components.
