8800 GT and Ubuntu - Plymouth low resolution
Hello,
why Ubuntu plymouth runs in a low resolution (640x480) on my computer home with my 8800 GT? At work, I have a PC with amd GPU and it uses the maximum resolution of the monitor. Whatever the nvidia drivers used, always low resolution. Thanks for your help. |
Re: 8800 GT and Ubuntu - Plymouth low resolution
Hi,
On Ubuntu 10.10+ you can use instructions from the link below to fix your plymouth boot resolution. I have succesfully used the procedure on ubuntu 10.10, 11.04, 11.10 and 12.04 so if you use any of those you should be good to go. http://www.webupd8.org/2010/10/scrip...mouth-for.html cheers |
Re: 8800 GT and Ubuntu - Plymouth low resolution
Thanks, but I know how to change the plymouth resolution under Ubuntu precise:
edit /etc/default/grub and uncomment this line and put resolution you want for plymouth here: Code:
# The resolution used on graphical terminalDo you think my grandma, when she will update their nvidia drivers (in fact she just knows to launch ubuntu update wich will update nvidia driver) will think edit the grub option to enable higher resolution? |

The nvidia driver doesn't handle the console, never has.
