Integrated geforce 8300 high in temperature

Hello community

I've set up an Asus M4N78 pro motherboard with integrated geforce 8300.

I started up a few minutes and the GPU temperature is already 62C (idle). The room is 24C and the CPU is 32C.

Is it normal to have such a high temperature ? I'm afraid to keep the computer on like this :(

TIA

I'm using the proprietary driver.

Your NVSMI LOG doesn't show any temperature readings, so I guess you have to show us

`nvclock -i` output or `nvidia-settings -q all | grep -i temp` output.

NVIDIA's GPUs can normally withstand temperatures up to 90C, so there's nothing to worry about. If you are still worried and if other drivers don't raise the temperature so high, please, check them first because from what you are saying it seems like you are not entirely sure if older drivers had the same issue.

Re: Integrated geforce 8300 high in temperature

Thanks for your answer.

I kinda solved the problem by using a PCI-e card, which seems to be steady at 45/46C.

I was worried because the temperature was rising, rising, rising... I shut down the computer at 64C after a few minutes from the boot. I was worried because it's integrated and I didn't want the MB to suffer.

I don't know about previous drivers, I'm using this old MB because mine has a default and should be shipped back to the manufacturer.

Those temperatures are quite normal for the 8200/8300 IGP's.
