Let the game/app handle it...

For which game/app do you wish to use it?

Originally, linux drivers are set to "let program handle it" or whatever it is called in windows...

I already figured it out

UT2K3, ugly even with settings cranked on highest

but i did the export_GL_FSAA_MODE=4 which is alot nicer.

i tried to export the fsaa setting i wanted on my fx card, but in quake it doesnt seem to be on! it does seem to be working when i run glxgears, though.

Check out YanC some time. It's a launcher with drop-down menus to select anti-aliasing and anisotrophic filtering settings so you don't have to export those variables in an xterm every time you want to run a game with it. I think you can even save presets.
