Flash Player Process taking up memory on task manager

Lately every time I update flash, currently 11.5.502.110, after installation, and when browsing a game or video that uses flash, like youtube, I get these 2 processes seen in attached picture, one taking up about 140mb of memory, the other about 5mb.

Why do these processes run and are these needed or can I get rid of them?
