She's mine, all mine ...

Signed the contract and made the final payment today, taking delivery next weekend when it's regged and setup with the extras i wanted (seatcowl, brake reservoirs front/back, black levers, led indicators etc) .

Been a long time coming, made the downpayment the 7th of february and they got the first 2013 daytona ( Mine) this wednesday. Because of harsh insurance terms for supersportbikes here sweden is a small market for the Daytona and not exactly on the upper half of priority markets. If you are under 25 and live in the city the insurance costs will be just about as much as the retail for the bike, it is that insane. For me it will be fine though since i'm not 25 anymore ;) Will pay roughly 250$ for each month used and around 30 $ /month during the winter, i can gladly live with that . Been a cold spring sofar so it didn't matter that much that the delivery is kinda late. I love it to bits, it's beautiful up close.

And ? It's not like i don't know that motorcyclists crash and get injured/killed. But honestly, there's a lot more people getting killed in carcrashes and other accidents so do you fear for your life everytime you drive your car ? It's like saying to smokers that it's dangerous to smoke, some of them quit, some don't , others get sick in lungcancer and some smoke until they die of old age. But regardless of somethings danger people will do it anyway if they enjoy it.

Motorcycling has been a part of my life now for 40 years and i can't really tell what you are trying to accomplish with your posts. It IS dangerous but i'm aware of that, it isnt like you are telling me something new. I can post a lot of stories of people getting killed in carcrashes the next time you drive somewhere if that's going to make you happy ......:headexplode:

If you drive responsibly and are aware of what others do in traffic and you try to think ahead you can minimize the dangers, that's what i'm doing.

Butter was injured in a freak accident, had he been in a car and crashed into the same gate at the same speed chances are that he would have gotten injured then aswell. Not as severly but the bike or the bikeriding itself didn't make him crash. All it takes is a fraction of a seconds loss of concentration and you can die regardless of what you drive, ride or even if you walk, but would you seriously live your life that way ? If you avoid everything that can potentially kill you you might aswell end it yourself because your life will not be worth living.

Agreed. I've been riding bikes for years, and have even completed both the basic and advanced motorcycle riding classes that are offered here. So I think I can safely say that my wreck wasn't a result of inexperience, trying to show-off, etc.

If I had jumped off the bike (like I have in the past with another bike before hitting a car that pulled out in front of me) I wouldn't have been injured that badly. But I must have thought I could get the bike steered back onto the road, and obviously failed (ground was too wet/muddy, so once that cruiser left the road it couldn't do anything but travel in a straight line)

You've got a beautiful bike though, take care of it, and ride safe! (And if you're ever about to crash into a steel pipe fence, just jump off the bike, don't try to save it ;)
