Help me please
Ok here is the problem, hope some of you smarties can help.
Just changed motherboards on my wifes pc, I didnt format the hard disk, just installed windows on the second hard drive. Now as the Motherboard chipsets are different etc. when trying to boot from the other windows, it just blue screens. Now I need to get into that original copy of windows, as I didnt create a backfile for my wifes emails, and now she is getting really really mad. I just need to get in there, create the backup cab file so then I can import it on the fresh install of Windows. Thanks in advance for any help that can be given. |
You don't need to boot from your original HD. Just boot off of your new HD and manually go and copy the needed files from your old HD to the new one. Go here on your old HD and that's where all your emails are. Copy the files to the same directory on your your new HD.
C:\Documents and Settings\Your user name(not All Users or Default User)\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{8F83AEDC-8185-494B-A1A0-932323DB18CD}\Microsoft\Outlook Express Make sure that you enable access to hidden files in your folder options in order to be able to see all the above folders. You may also need to create the same folders you had in your "old' Outlook Express in your new one before copying the necessary files over so you can overwrite them and thus import all your emails. |
Thanks for that, that has helped :)
