'Unable to find the kernel header files
I recently upgraded Redhat AS 2.1 kernel to the latest kernel. After that I reinstalled the nvidia driver and I got this error message:
'Unable to find the kernel header files for the currently running kernel. Please make sure you have installed the kernel header files for your kernel, on the Redhat systems, for example, be sure you have the 'kernel-source' rpm installed. If you know the correct kernel header files installed, you may specify the kernel include path with the '--kernel-include-path' commandline option.
Please assist. Thank you in advance.
You need to check the docs that came with for Linux distrib and see what they say about the kernel you have and then get hold of the source tree/header files for said kernel.
The reason for this is individual distribs often patch kernel ever so slightly before releasing them.
If all this fails you could get the latest source(*) and compile yourself a new kernel.
The latest 2.6 tree does not play well with the NVidia drivers when trying to install luckerly http://www.minion.de./ are happy to help
