Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering...

Can anyone out there tell me what AA and AF are for? What they do and when I should use them? I'm new to this 3D tweaking stuff... Thanx everyone!!!

AA reduces the amount of jaggies in a scene, while AF drastically improves texture quality. Check out the image quality comparisons in pretty much any review.

Thanx for the speedy reply Baron! Correct me if I am wrong, but the higher the number, the more it works, like 2x AA isnt as good as 4x AA... right? Also, whats 2xQ and 4xS for? What would you recommend for my card? It's not exactly fast as you probably know, so it might not even be playable at any AA setting... I havent experimented yet...

although your card can do AA..its is not advisable...as the performance hit would too much probably making your games unplayable.....unless u play at extreemly low res..like 640 by 480.

Alright, thank you for clearing this up for me Baron! Take a look at my thread on this forum "having trouble with a couple of games" (i think thats what I named it) You seem like a wealth of knowledge on this nVidia stuff.
