refresh rate on lcds

Are higher refresh rates of any use on lcd displays? I've seen some threads about problems with video playback over dvi ports at rates over 60Hz. I wouldn't think a refresh rate faster than the source material (24Hz or 30Hz for video) would be useful on lcd, since it doesn't decay the way a phosphor display does.

Refresh rates do not apply to LCD monitors, they are flicker-free. Only the gfx card ask
for it. The best is to set it to 60Hz.
