GeForce NVIDIA drivers (using slackware 9.1, want to run "dual monitors")
I have a Diamond s90 GeForceFX 5200 video card. Currently I have the card running of the nvidia generic driver. (I'm running slackware linux 9.1, XFree86 is version 4.x). What im trying to do is get dual monitors working. I downloaded and ran the first file in the nvidia driver list and it recompiled my kernal. From there Im not sure what to do. I tried configuring my XF86 file (tells me to change a couple lines to use nvidia driver), but when I do that and startx, It woulnt load. If I can get the drivers working, I eventualy want to get stretched or extended mode on where I can use both monitors.
I'm pretty much a new user to linux, so im not that experienced, nor is there anyone I know that even uses linux (so im pretty much out of luck geting help from someone I know). Can anyone help me?
