widescreen

Hi, I've just purchased a new widescreen monitor and though I think the monitor's great, I'm sorely disappointed that the latest Nvidia module for linux doesn't seem to support my lcd's native resolution of 1280x768. Is there any sort of fix or hack I can do to get this working? I hate to be crippled like this in my favorite OS. If anyone's got any ideas please let me know.

Debian linux with kernel 2.6.0
Nvidia 5328 modules
XFree86 4.2.1.1

Never mind, i was drunk when i wrote that post, I've already got my problems solved by simply adding:

ModeLine "1280x768" 104.71 1280 1336 1616 1728 768 770 782 808 #75Hz

to XF86Config. I dunno why I thought it was a Nvidia module issue...

Re: widescreen

Could you provide your XF86config file? I have the problem of setting my widescreen laptop display. Its a 1200 x 800 and I can only get up to 1024 x 768 screen res.

Thanks

Re: widescreen

Here it is, I've only added the resolution specific info. You'll need to change the "1280x768" to whatever res you want, and my modeline options are specific to my monitor capabilities so you may need to modify those as well, here's a good link:

Good luck ;)
