3D Acceleration

I'm new at this so please try explain, i just installed suse pro 9.0 and the new nvidia drivers. everthing SEEMS to be working right, but i still cannot check the 3d Acceleration box, and i've read that it doesn't matter and that 3d Acceleration is installed and working even though the box is not checked. is there a way to tell if its working or not? thanks for any help!

Did you install the Nvidia drivers?

Well, just open a terminal (Konsole, xterm, gnome-terminal, whatever), and enter 'glxinfo'.
If the output contains [...]Nvidia Corporation[...], you should have 3D hardware accelleration working.
