I have installed new nVidia drivers on my Toshiba laptop and... still I can not set resolution above 800x600. with standard driver I can reach 1024x768, but with oryginal nVidia driver - I cannot - I can get only 800x600 :(

anyone can help me?

Thanks in advance!

No modes above 800x600 pass X's validation, so this behavior is correct for the hsync and vrefresh values you've specified. I'm betting your hsync values are incorrect. Can you rerun X with 'startx -- -logverbose 5' and post a new log?

I don't believe that EDID. What exact Toshiba laptop model do you have?

Thoshiba Sateliite 1410-614

default driver shipped with Fedora Core 1 works correct but I don't have 3D support and when I switch from X to text mode, display is overscanned.

when I try to use oryginal nVidia drivers downloaded from nVidia web page -- I cannot get 1024x768

under windows only driver shipped with laptop have worked.

Try adding the following to your Monitor section:
Code:

  # 1024x768 @ 60.00 Hz (GTF) hsync: 47.70 kHz; pclk: 64.11 MHz
  Modeline "1024x768"  64.11  1024 1080 1184 1344  768 769 772 795  -HSync +Vsync

That's a modeline for 1024x768 at a 60Hz refresh rate.

Oh, sorry - add
Code:

Option  "IgnoreEDID" "1"
in the Device section of your XF86Config file.
