Is it worth the time, and can I get back if it doesn't work

I am running a laptop with a 1600 x 1200 resolution screen and a GeForce 4 440 Go 64mb. I, after lots of tooling, have the whole thing fairly well with the nv GeForce 4 (generic) selection, but there are still distinct color lines across the screen (not running 32 bit true color I guess). Its not perfect, but liveable right now, as it is only apparent on dark screens/backgrounds.

WIll the nvidia driver fix this? Can I get back if I have a problem?

Thanks in advance for your comments. I put a lot of work into this thing, am a newbie, and don't want to screw it up.

Of course you can use the nvidia driver to fix your problem, and yes you can go back easy enough.

The generic nvidia driver is very good for 2d but just dont have 3d acceration.
