Unable to load the kernel module 'nvidia.ko'
Hi everybody, i´m trying to install the NVIDIA drivers (NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run) but the following error message appears:
"Unable to load the kernel module 'nvidia.ko'. This is most likely because the kernel module was built using the wrong kernel source files. Please make sure you have installed the kernel source files for your kernel.
If you know the correct kernel source files are installed, you may specify the kernel source path with the '--kernel-source-path' command line option"
My kernel is the brand new 2.6.3 and i have the sources : in '/usr/src/linux-2.6.3'
so i tried to install using :
sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run --kernel-source-path /usr/src/linux-2.6.3
but it won´t do it.
I´m using Debian sarge.
Geforce 4 MX 440...
Can anybody help me ?
Try THIS driver, I didnot have that issue myself.
I dit it !
Oh, thanks for the help but i finally dit it !
I read another thread about it and followed the recipe.
Just did "apt-get install module-init-tools"
I thought module-init-tools was correctly installed but, it was not.
