nvidia on dual PIII
I am having problems installing NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4363-pkg1.run, the driver will not compile saying no precompiled kernel found.
I also tried NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run no luck.
I am new to Linux how I can precompile a kernel, if this is my problem?
I am using:
Motherboard :supermicro p3dr3
CPU : : Dual PIII at 800 mgz
Graphic: NVIDIA Geforce 440MX SE 64M DDR
OS: Linux Mandrake 9.2
Ram: RAMBUS 1GB at 800 mgz
kernel: 2.4.22-10mdk enterprise on a dual-processor i686 /tty1
you should install the kernel-source of youre running kernel...
thanks for your sweft reply,
How I can do that ?
well im not familiar with mandrake package system but there should be a kernel-source package for your kernel on your mandrake cds or at least on the net... try to ask for help in the mandrake forum if you cant find it
there should be an RPM drake utility, fire that up and search for 'kernel' That should pull up the source packages.
