At What CPU Speed Does the Ti4600 Max out?

What I mean here is this:

I have read several articles about slower CPUs bottlenecking the GPU with these higher-end cards. I am running on an Athlon 1.4 and am considering a CPU upgrade to get more out of my graphics and games. I don't want to get the Athlon XP 2600 if the 2000 will suffice.

Anyone know what the sweetspot is for a pairing of an Athlon XP CPU and the GeForce4 Ti4600? I read several articles and it looks likt the difference between a 4600 with an Athlon XP 2000 and the same card with an Athlon XP 2600 is not much at all. Thoughts?

Split the difference and pick up a Thoroughbred 2200+ Right now they're running $150 or less online. That should be a nice compromise - your graphics will get a kick in the pants, but your wallet will still thank you. :)

Yep, even tho mines is an intel, I think my Ti 4200 is going as fast as it can. ;)

That's one reason I thought it would be interesting to do a small bit on graphics card scaling with the Athlon XP 2700+

But we are seeing more games of late that are CPU intensive. But like saturnotaku suggested, a 2200+ seems to be a good choice to balance the two out.
