And early. I wasn't expecting this to ship until next week but I just got the call that my copy is in and ready to go. I'll be picking it up this morning, but I won't have time to install or play until probably this weekend.

But those of you who get the game, be sure to post your feedback here!

Should be in all stores as EB got 'em in today.

I want pick it up as I really liked the demo, but Far Cry is taking up all my free time now and I want to revisit Ninja Gaiden as well. Painkiller may have to wait for the R420/N40.....

I'm surprised to read that as my best friend w/ a virtually identical system as mine, but with a 5900U, was getting significantly lower frames than me on my 9800 Pro (albeit overclocked by 15%). Perhaps you are referring to the finished game, as I only played the demo.

And I run all my games @ 1280x1024 (native on my lcd) which requires almost double the fill-rate to get the same fps as 1024x768 so what's playable at 1024 may not be @ 1280.

I'm running the second demo @1280x1024 , 2xAA ,4xAF + max settings & the game is running quite smooth for me on 5950U + P4:3.0c + 1GB RAM .

I'm running a 3.0 @ 3.4 and my friend is using a 2.6 @ 3.26 and we've both got a gig of ram. We both run the game w/ everything maxed and 8x AF w/ no AA. The difference is quite noticable, although far from unplayable on his 5900U. Both systems slow down a lot when you blow up all those barrels near the hanging bodies at the beginning of the first demo.

Would you say your 5950 runs it better than your 9800XT, or no noticable difference?

That must be the particles effects which cause the slowdowns i think .

when playing the demo on both 5950u & 9800xt , they both seems to run on par with each other , however when overclocked .. the 5950u get a bit faster than the 9800XT with overdrive ( i dont overclock my 9800XT because it gets hot pretty fast in the normal condidtions unlike the 5950u .. btw they are both refrenece design & both gets exactly the same case cooling ) .
on the other hand the 9800XT is better at 6xAA . the 5950 chugs when the AA get beyond 4 samples !

My Review Thus Far:

Single Player:
An absolute blast. I am having alot of fun with the single player portion of the game... It reminds me of a rollercoaster ride :) You move from one area to the next, each area is unique from the one before it. Very interesting.
The sound is the best sound I have ever heard in a game.. IMO. The environmental, and positioning is dead on. You can distinctly hear something whether it is coming from the front right, rear left, etc. I am using a 4.1 setup, and boy it sounds great.
The graphics are VERY nice also. No Far Cry, but they are clean, and run very smooth.
The physics are very cool, nearly everything can be broken. Pillars send structures crumbling, bridges made from wood sway, and explosions send pieces of the surrounding flying. One of the first weapons you receive is a shotgun, :) Wait till you try this bad boy, planting a shotgun into the chest of a baddy sends him flying.. into objects and such. Great fun :)

Some people might say its too repetitive.. but I dont think so. Every area is different from the last, and the weapons are always changing, also, with the cool physics, it makes sure each baddy dies a different way :)

Multiplayer:
Well, its ok. But the maps are way too cramped, and the game is super fast. Like really fast..lol. Also, it is quite easy to die from a few shots. Be prepared to be spawning like mad. There are a few multiplayer maps with some cool traps, such as dropping barrels, etc. Interesting approach. Conclusion? Multiplayer is fun, but definetely no UT2004.

Overall, it's alot of fun, and I encourage everyone to pick this one up!! :)
