Nvidia Driver Model
Can anyone explain to me nvidia's driver model. I know they have a binary closed source driver, but their must be hooks in this code to talk to the open source part that gets recompiled with a new kernel?

A technical description would be appreciated, thanx.

Re: Nvidia Driver Model
They distribute their closed-source stuff in the form of a precompiled static library. They compile the driver interface, link in the driver chunk, and bing, driver.

In other words, the closed-source stuff is 100% devoted to dealing with the card and doesn't have any kernel-interface parts. They nail the kernel interface onto the outside of it.
