re-install driver whenever i boot another kernel

Hi,

i'm quite happy with the NVidia graphics driver, but there's one thing
that really annoys me:

I have several different kernels on my system. Whenever i boot a
different kernel i need to re-install the drivers.

E.g:
Install 2.6.4
Install NVidia driver
Boot 2.6.3
Boot 2.6.4 -> no graphics support.

Can i somehow change that?

Best regards,
Torsten.

Re: re-install driver whenever i boot another kernel

Just don't use the installer to build the module for a second kernel.
Then the older module will not be uninstalled

sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run --extract-only
cd NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1/usr/src/nv
For 2.4 kernels link Makefile.nvidia to Makefile
For 2.6 kernels link Makefile.kbuild to Makefile
make clean
make -f makefile.nvidia ( for 2.4) or make -f Makefile.kbuild (for 2.6)
