1400x1050 framebuffer problem
i don't know if it's the right place to past this, but here's my problem.
i have a sony laptop and a NVidia graphic card. Since the rivafb doesn't work, i turned on vesafb in my kernel. The thing is i can't get 1400x1050 (1280x1024 is great but not perfect) as the framebuffer resolution. I googled and find some parameters like 834 or 835 for the vga=, but they doesn't work for me. Does someone know how to have a 1400x1050 framebuffer resolution with a Geforce FX 5600 Go?

Re: 1400x1050 framebuffer problem
well, for some reason (i have *no* idea why), there are 2 versions of the codes for framebuffer. the one that i use is a bit more complicated. i personally use 0x31B -- which is 16M colors at 1280x1024. here's some links:

i used to have more, but that's all i can find. they are most likely the best though, they explain in detail framebuffer.

also remember there is documentation that comes with framebuffer packages, that's generally the best to follow by.

Re: 1400x1050 framebuffer problem
the thing is that 31B works, but what i can't do is having a better resolution than 1280x1024.

Re: 1400x1050 framebuffer problem
i finally made it work by using vga=ask and trying mode from 330 to 36f. The best i had was 1400x1050 with 16bits colors. (actually i also got 320x240 :/ )
